DAY 6 - NIGHT OF OVERCOMING HURTS

Genesis 29:30-35

Bible text:
Mark 3:25 ‘And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.’

MIDNIGHT MEDITATION:
Leah was deceived by her father to do according to his instructions by causing her to lie and pretend to be Rachel when she knew she was not. What was the tool used by her father to push Leah into such a situation, we would never know. Many times, we are forced to do what we do not want to and end up having to pay for it for the rest of our lives. Leah was the eldest daughter to Laban and was very obedient to her father. So when Laban her father came up with this deceptive plan, she demurely followed through. She thought she could be favoured with the love of Jacob as her husband but how wrong she was. Jacob did not love her. He did not even pretend, he showed it in all manners that Rachael was his choice. Seven years of hard labour did not make him to divert his love; not even the sexual relations she had with him (bearing of children) could soften his heart towards Leah. In his spite, he went ahead to serve another seven years for the woman he truly loved. How painful it was to Leah to keep seeing the man she married, rise up early in the morning to a hard day’s labour just to win the hand of her junior sister. How dejected she would feel when Jacob came back whistling with a broad smile on his face after a hard day with the thought of Rachael solely in his mind. Finally, seven years of labour were over and Rachael given to Jacob as wife, thus the real movie began.

Their love was blatantly expressed before her daily. Leah was not headstrong, quite the contrary she was humble and maybe too docile. As a human she did the only thing that seemed reasonable to gain the love of her husband, by giving birth to sons thinking that his affection would be showered on her but alas she was proved wrong. Repeatedly, many marriages today are faced with a lot of challenges, most women are not being cherished by the husbands they have married and vowed to settle with, most women have to contend with a strange woman who comes in to divert the attention of the husband from her. No woman would be happy to fold her arms and do nothing but watch her family being torn apart by another. Many women out of desperation rush into things that eventually bring regret and shame to them. Leah was no different; she thought begetting sons would buy her husband’s love hence the name she gave to her first three sons.

The first son was named Reuben, second Simeon and third Levi. Genesis 29:32-34 “So Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben; for she said, "The LORD has surely looked on my affliction. Now therefore, my husband will love me." Then she conceived again and bore a son, and said, "Because the LORD has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also." And she called his name Simeon. She conceived again and bore a son, and said, "Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons." Therefore his name was called Levi”

When your marriage and family seems to be hitting the rocks what do you do? Do you take matters in your hands and seek for physical intervention when the One who created marriage and has the manual for repairing all types of hurts in your marriage is right beside you to show you which step and action to take. When Leah realized the frailty of her actions, she turned to God for unconditional love and acceptance.

We can only find peace for troubled marriages within the loving hand and arm of God; when God steps in to your home, every storm is calm. When Leah surrendered to God, she had inner peace and at the end we see that indeed she had won the heart of her husband. In Gen. 49:31 Jacob’s last request to his sons is that he be buried close to his wife Leah and not Rachael. Also the genealogy of Jesus will not be complete if the name of Leah is not mentioned.

Beloved woman, is your marriage facing a time of crisis or do you know of someone who is facing marital crisis; beloved girl/lady are you in a relationship that seems not promising, or is your parent’s marriage hitting the rocks? God, the originator of marriages is present tonight to turn things around for the better. It took Leah’s focus and dependence on God to gain the attention of her husband and bring back her marriage to life. Will you be challenged by the life of Leah and surrender your marriage/relationship to God tonight to resuscitate. He is willing and very able to do so.

PRAY UNTIL GOD ALMIGHTY ANSWERS (PUGAA)
IT’S MIDNIGHT PRAYER:

1. Lord God, the originator of marriage, I surrender my marriage/home into your able control.
2. Father, everything that is working against the success and growth of my marriage relationship/home, let it be broken down tonight under the fire of the Holy Spirit.
3. O Most High, I plead my cause wherever I have been treated as dung and unimportant in my marriage; I decree that I shall be called blessed by my husband and children in Jesus name.
4. Father, I pray tonight that every weapon fashioned against me and my home, be destroyed and condemned this minute
5. Mighty God, I refuse to be controlled by the things that I see that cause me heart ache but I place my focus on only you, let me not be confounded.
6. Father, according to your word in Mal. 3:6; because You do not change, I declare that I shall not be consumed by the evil plans of the enemy.
7. My Father, may I not be the agent used by the devil to destroy my home or the home of another.
8. O God, beam your light on my confusion and correct them by your awesome power. Show me the way forward and save me from further complications my life in Jesus name. Amen
9. Rebuild my life that have been affected by the customs in the land where I dwell; intervene and settle all confusions brought upon me and my family by anyone within or outside my family in Jesus name. Amen
10. Abba Father, you are the author and designer of marriage, fix the marriage of ……………….. (Mention the names of people you know that are facing one challenge or difficulty) tonight.
11. Let marriages and homes receive a fresh fire of your love and blessings; grace to overcome hurts and harassment locate me in Jesus name. Amen
12. Father, heal every heart that is grieved against their spouse, let Your healing power break through every hurting spouse and grant them the oil of rejoicing.

Blessings from the bossom of a Godly Woman:

1. For every marriage hurting, I speak forth God’s healing power upon you; let there be a rekindling of love and affection amongst spouses tonight
2. Jesus came that we may have life in abundance. Every agent or factor that has caused marriages to be ripped apart, be it physical or spiritual, I declare them broken and of no effect this minute.

FAMILY MIDNIGHT PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
N/B: Beloved be on your knees lay your right hand on your head and by faith prophetically claim all the midnight declarations. See yourself as someone kneeling before a great messenger of God and after claiming all declarations, go back and sleep

1. The grace that pulled David out of the bush to the place of his enthronement is locating you right now to pull you out of every pit of life to the palace of favour in Jesus name – Amen.
2. If oppositions, problems and obstacles could not stop the beneficiaries of grace in times of old, no oppositions or obstacles can stop you in Jesus name.
3. God Almighty will take you into confidence and share His secrets with you. Whatever is contrary to the nature of Christ in you is today uprooted and destroyed in Jesus name.
4. You shall have access to that which belongs to you by divine arrangement. No good thing shall be delayed or denied you anymore in Jesus name.
5. Mistakes and errors shall no longer be found in you. With clear revelations, you shall receive grace for right decisions from now in Jesus name.
6. As the Lord Almighty reveals Himself to you, every satanic dribblers in your life shall be confused and demobilized and you shall possess your possessions. Your family shall enjoy multiple celebrations after this midnight prayers in Jesus name. Amen
