The Secret Of Success

Image
BEFORE I SLEEP EVENING DEVOTIONAL Sunday, August 27, 2017 Scriptural Reading:  Joshua 1:1-8 Text: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (vs. 1:8). Commentary: From the beginning of life here on earth, man wakes up on a daily basis and gets busy with so many things, just to become richer than the previous day. But it has been discovered that most times little or no headway is made at the long run.   Sometimes, less is even achieved. Do not go to bed today without first of all asking yourself why this is so and striving to get the answer to this question. Every question concerning the how and where of success is clearly shown in the pages of the Holy Scripture (The Bible). To be successful in your life, study the word of God, meditate on it and do what is

The Force of Belief

Before I Sleep Evening Devotional Saturday, August 26, 2017 Scriptural Reading: Numbers 13:25-33 Text: “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.” (vs. 3:12). Commentary: The act of neglecting God’s total ownership upon one’s life arises from two basic factors, namely, hardness of heart and unbelief.   These things stand to deceive and deny one from receiving the blessings God has for him/her. Unbelief puts one at variance with himself and nurtures him with evil reports as in the case of the spies (cf. Num. 13:28-29). But for Caleb, they would have gone on instilling fear in the people. Fear makes one magnify things while reducing oneself and the potency of God. Belief, on the other hand, gives rise to strength to face any obstacle head-on.   Caleb said “… let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it .” (Num. 13:30). No one can confuse you if you know whom you believe i

God Of Grace

Before I Sleep Evening Devotional Friday, August 25, 2017 Scriptural Reading:   1 Peter 5:1-10 Text :  “And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” (vs. 10). Commentary: Faithful is He who calls us, and faithful is he who will do it. Grace in this context means God’s riches at Christ’s expense. The grace of God is the indispensable thing we need in this life.   If not for the grace of God, life would have been excruciatingly difficult. Our reading today is a call to perseverance. The call to perseverance is matched by the doctrine of preservation. Since God has called us to share His eternal glory in Christ, we can ultimately rely on Him to bring us safely through to it. The grace of God is always sufficient to those who put their trust in Him. Maybe you are undergoing suffering, know that the grace of God is available

Annual Midnight Prayers for Women, Ladies and Girls

Image
From the beginning of time, Women have played very significant and indispensable roles in the Divine plan of God. And different from popular and contemporary views about women, it is an overwhelming truth that God has strategically positioned the woman in the family to play very significant roles in ensuring growth and stability in the home. Where the woman fails in her responsibility in the home, the home adversely suffers. God has deposited within every woman the seed of a nation and the ability to carry and raise a nation; and to be able to do that, she must understand the power of a bended Knee; she must understand the power of Intercession and Supplication. The word of God speaking about Rebekah says, But the children struggled together within her; and she said, "If all is well, why am I like this?" So she went to inquire of the LORD. And the LORD said to her: "Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall b

Welcome to August - Welcome to the Season of Rest on Every Side...

Image
Dearly Beloved, I am persuaded by the Almighty God to declare to you that it shall be your season of great revival that will usher in rest of mind, peace on every side, joy, comfort and great relief. It shall also be a season of judgment for the wicked as the scripture says in Psalm 94:13   “That You may give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked” (NKJV). Those whose lives are directed by God’s law are the blessed ones (Psalm 1). Contrary to the arrogant expectations of the wicked and inspite of the oppressions, the scripture confirms in Psalm 7:9  “Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; for the righteous God tests the hearts and minds”.   This particular season our Lord Jesus Christ is expressly speaking to us that, despite the fact that we have experienced many troubles and distresses, He will revive us again and will bring us up again from the depths of the earth, increase our greatness and tur
